ZOO Wallet Terms of Service

Effective 29 September 2026

These terms apply to your use of ZOO Wallet, a browser extension made by ZOO AI ("we", "us"). By installing or using the wallet, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the wallet.

1. Experimental software, used at your own risk

ZOO Wallet is experimental front-end software. It may contain errors, may not work as expected and may change or stop working at any time. You use it entirely at your own risk. Only use amounts you can afford to lose.

2. You are in control, and you are responsible

ZOO Wallet is self-custody software. Your keys and recovery phrase are created and kept on your device. We never have them, and we cannot access, freeze, reverse or recover your funds.

3. Payments are final

Payments on the Zcash network cannot be cancelled or reversed once sent. Network fees apply and are not refundable. A payment may be delayed, may fail or may expire because of the network, a light server, or the service you are paying, such as an exchange.

4. What we provide, and what we do not

We provide the wallet software. We do not hold, manage or control your funds. We are not a bank, exchange, broker or payment service, and nothing in the wallet is financial, investment, legal or tax advice. The wallet connects to the Zcash network through light servers, including one we operate. We do not guarantee that any server or network will be available or accurate.

5. Third parties

The Zcash network, light servers run by others, block explorers, exchanges and other services you use with the wallet are not controlled by us, and their own terms apply. Zcash is a trademark of the Zcash Foundation. ZOO Wallet and ZOO AI are not affiliated with or endorsed by Zooko Wilcox, the Electric Coin Company or the Zcash Foundation.

6. Your use

You agree to use the wallet lawfully, and you are responsible for any taxes and legal obligations that apply to you. Do not use the wallet to break the law, harm others, or interfere with the wallet or the servers it uses.

7. No warranty

The wallet is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, security, accuracy or uninterrupted operation.

8. No liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ZOO AI and its contributors are not liable for any loss or damage of any kind arising from your use of, or inability to use, the wallet. This includes lost funds, lost or stolen keys or recovery phrases, failed, delayed or mistaken payments, errors in the software, and problems with the Zcash network or any light server or third-party service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.

9. Indemnity

You agree to hold ZOO AI and its contributors harmless from any claim arising from your use of the wallet or your breach of these terms.

10. Open-source components

The wallet includes open-source software, which is provided under its own licences, listed in the notices shipped with the wallet.

11. Changes and ending

We may change these terms, or change or stop offering the wallet, at any time. The effective date above shows when these terms last changed. Continuing to use the wallet after a change means you accept the new terms. You can stop using the wallet at any time by removing it; keep your recovery phrase so you can restore your wallet elsewhere.

12. Whole agreement

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and ZOO AI about the wallet. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
